Leading Canadian Licensed Permit Holder Joins ATACH

Allan Rewak to Chair ATACH’s International Relations Council

WASHINGTON, D.C. – ATACH today announced the addition of Emerald Health Therapeutics, a Canadian licensed producer of cannabis, as a new association member. Additionally, Allan Rewak, Emerald Health’s Vice President for communications and stakeholder relations, will chair ATACH’s International Relations Council. The appointment of Rewak will expand ATACH’s international expertise and focus on the global hemp and cannabis marketplace and political environment.

Rewak previously led the Cannabis Council of Canada (C3), Canada’s national industry association for cannabis, cultivators, and processors. In honor of his work, the Financial Post named Rewak, “one of the 20 power players setting down roots in the cannabis industry.”

“We are proud to welcome Emerald Health Therapeutics, a leading global cannabis company, to ATACH as well as the appointment of Emerald’s Allan Rewak, one of the biggest names in Canadian cannabis, to chair our International Relations Council,” said ATACH President Michael Bronstein. “Allan’s well noted international expertise and perspective will be welcomed as we work together on near term priorities including the upcoming FDA hearing on CBD.”

Rewak will lead ATACH’s international relations council, which monitors and engages global rulemaking bodies and regulators on issues that involve cross-border financial transactions, international treaties, publicly traded companies, customs and border issues, and more. Furthering these areas of work, Rewak will also serve on the Advisory Board for the Policy Center for Public Health and Safety (PH&S) where he will coordinate the organization’s cooperative international efforts. ATACH and PH&S have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to partner on international policy as it relates to banking, finance, and public health and safety.

“I’m excited to bring my firsthand knowledge of the Canada’s cannabis industry to help guide ATACH and policy reforms in the United States and around the world,” said Rewak. “I believe ATACH’s groundbreaking work is the perfect platform to lead the next phase of international business advocacy and by harmonizing business relationships, research, standards development, and public health initiatives across countries the foundation for legal global trade will be built.”
